Challenging the conventional systems of linguistics and representation, This Means Love is a book in which Prouvost replaces emotive words and concepts with anthropomorphized objects, represented by her watercolour drawings for the audience to de-code and re-interpret. To celebrate the launch of the book with Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, we staged a 'Legsicon' lesson by Prouvost with readings of four new stories and texts using this object alphabet, commissioned from some of the authors and poets that feature in the publication: Dodie Bellamy, Paul Buck, Dana Munro and Maxine Kopsa.
