Sean Scully

Sean Scully returns to Shanghai with a new series of works from his iconic Landline series, featuring horizontal stripes inspired by nature's horizon line. This marks his first solo exhibition in the city in over a decade, following his major 2014 survey Follow the Heart: The Art of Sean Scully 1964–2014, which made him the first Western artist to receive a career-spanning retrospective in China. Recent major institutional presentations in China include Away From The Sea at the He Art Museum in Shunde (2024) and Sublime and Sunyata at the Art Museum of Sichuan Conservatory of Music in Sichuan (2025).
