Lisson Gallery

Tony Cragg's Sermon was included in his solo exhibition at Lisson Gallery in 1985. Opening his inaugural exhibition in 1979, for the past four decades, Cragg has shown a vast array of sculptural works in diverse forms and mediums.

"I first saw Tony Cragg’s work in a student group show at Brunel University in 1974 and his sculptures stood out, so I called the number on the press release the next day and explained who I was. “I wondered when you were going to call,” he replied. It turned out that Tony had already been a regular visitor to Lisson Gallery, but had never introduced himself. It was much the same story with the other British sculptors – Bill Woodrow, Richard Deacon, Anish Kapoor, Shirazeh Houshiary, Richard Wentworth and Julian Opie", wrote Nicholas Logsdail reminiscing about his first introduction to Tony Cragg.
