'Underneath' at The Nordic House, Reykjavík, features film and sculptures by Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg

6 January 2021

On view at The Nordic House in Reykjavík until 23rd January, 'UNDERNEATH' brings together work by Nordic artists that present subversive avenues for exploring gender and sexuality. Through critical engagement with practices of self-exploration, truth-seeking, and rethinking of stereotypical ideals, the exhibition is an invitation to navigate the underbelly of the normative and what lies below the surface of an egalitarian societal utopia.

Among the works exhibited are Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg's 2019 stop-motion animated film One Last Trip to The Underworld, as well as a number of models of the fantastical creatures featured throughout thier video works.
