Sean Scully 'Long Light' opens at Villa Panza in Varese
19 April 2019
FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano (the National Trust for Italy) presents Sean Scully: Long Light at Villa Panza, curated by Anna Bernardini, Director of Villa Panza & the Panza Collection, from 18 April 2019 to 6 January 2020.
Scully's focus on colour, gesture, balance and light perfectly matches the aesthetic sensibility of Giuseppe Panza. The exhibition features more than 60 works from the early 1970s to present day, and highlights some of the artist's most celebrated series, including Passenger and Landlines. A new site-specific work in the Orangery of the Villa Panza will become a part of the permanent collection. Entitled Looking Outward, the work consists of 27 stained glass Landlines panes that will add colour and reflections throughout the structure.
