Marina Abramovic survey exhibition at Sakıp Sabancı Museum

‘Akış / Flux’, a dual-site exhibition by Marina Abramović and the Marina Abramović Institute (MAI), is now open at the Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM) and Akbank Sanat cultural centre in Istanbul, Turkey. Abramović’s first large-scale survey in Turkey is arranged into three parts which bring together video and photographic documentation of historical performances, documentaries profiling the artist’s 50 year career and a section dedicated to The Abramović Method. A number of live performances have also been developed with MAI following an open-call to performance artists.

The Abramović Method is an exploration of being present in both time and space, incorporation exercises that focus on breath, motion, stillness and concentration in which the participation of an audience or visitors plays a central role.

‘Akış / Flux’ is on view until 26 April.
