London's Imperial War Museum reopens with installation by Ai Weiwei

28 July 2020

From 1 August, the Imperial War Museums in London will reopen to visitors with the unveiling of a new installation by Ai Weiwei. History of Bombs covers the floor and staircases of the museum with a complete list of all types of bombs ever used by mankind. Covering the entirey of the museum's central atrium, this marks the first time that this space has been given over to an individual artist. The site specific artwork was commissioned by IWM for its Refugees season. Exploring international migration, conflict as a root cause of human flow, and the relationship between the individual, society and the state, History of Bombs draws on the artist’s ongoing investigation into politics and power.

It is advised to book tickets in advance. Find out more and book at iwm.org.
