Firstsite launches The Great Big Art Exhibition featuring contributions by Ai Weiwei, Ryan Gander and Anish Kapoor

Firstsite, Colchester, with support from Plus Tate Network and Arts Council England, has today announced the launch of The Great Big Art Exhibition, inviting people across the UK to make art at home and display their creations in windows, doors, balconies or gardens, for the nation's largest ever exhibition.

Leading artists will choose a different theme for the artworks to be made each fortnight, with Ai Weiwei, Ryan Gander and Anish Kapoor among those set to choose an upcoming theme. Artworks from the nation’s galleries and museums can be used as a template or for inspiration and will be put online.
