Since the beginning of her career, in Belgrade in the late 1960s, Marina Abramović has pioneered performance as a visual art for creating some of the most important works in the field. ‘Marina Abramović: The Artist in Present’ documents this history in detail, representing the range of Abramović’s art in sound, video, installation, photography, and performance, as well as in the reperformance of both solo and collaborative historical works.
Featuring essays by Klaus Biesenbach, Arthur C. Danto, Chrissie Iles, Nancy Spector, and Jovana Stokic, the book also includes an audio recording in which Abramović guides the reader through the volume’s pages.
